Morning Wildlife Walk

Discover Longshaw's spring wildlife and spectacular views on a friendly guided walk

Starting at the Welcome Building near Woodcroft car park, explore the sights and sounds of Longshaw's wildlife with an early morning walk. 

While we can’t guarantee exactly what we will spot, we will be looking out for moorland birds, wild red deer, spring haymeadow flowers and the woods looking their most vivid with summer colour.

The walk is about two hours long, including plenty of pauses to look and listen. The distance is about 3 miles/5km. The walk will end at Longshaw visitor hub, where toilets are available.

Please note:

  • Meet at the Welcome Building, near Woodcroft car park.
  • Please wear sturdy shoes and suitable outdoor clothing.  If you have binoculars, please bring them along.
  • The route includes steps, kissing gates and steep ascents and descents.
  • Suitable for accompanied children over the age of 8 years.
  • Please do not bring dogs as we will be listening and looking for wildlife.
    If you have them we recommend you bring binoculars or a camera to help you see the wildlife in more detail.
