May Half Term - Guided walks for National Walking Month
Fancy a good dose of fresh air and stunning scenery? Then, why not join us this half term for a series of guided walks across the beautiful Downs landscape?
There are few things as good for the soul as getting out into nature, especially at this time of year when the Downs is full of life and beauty.
This half term we'll be running a series of morning and afternoon guided walks, led by our team of rangers, staff and volunteers, with something for everyone to enjoy.
The walks provide an opportunity to immerse yourself in the local history and wildlife and meet new people.
Scheduled walks include:
Wildflowers & Butterflies (23rd May);
Tree Cathedral History walk (25th May);
Five Knolls medieval history walk, with some bird spotting along the way (26th May);
Kids orienteering & exploration walk (27th May);
Adults wellbeing walk (27th May)
While children are welcome on all walks, with some scheduled to last around two hours, we advise parents / guardians to use their own discretion. The exploration walk on the 27th is the most suitable for children, as it is shorter and specifically tailored for younger ages.
Please note:
- Standard admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Meet at the courtyard just outside the visitor centre.
- Wear comfy, weather appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor terrain.
- Download a free identification app like Merlin or Seek for spotting birds or flora and fauna.
- Accessibility dependent on the walk - give us a call for more details.
- Children welcome on all walks at parent/guardian's discretion.
