'Sissinghurst and Greece': In Conversation

An afternoon of expert-led talks exploring diplomat Harold Nicolson’s role in the fortunes of post-war Greece and how, in turn, Greece inspired the iconic design of his home at Sissinghurst.

In celebration of our current exhibition ‘Passion and Politics: Sissinghurst and Greece’, join us for an afternoon of talks with leading experts from the Classics Department of Kings College London and the National Trust.

Explore the significant connections between diplomat Harold Nicolson and leading figures of 20th century Greece, and uncover how they inspired the creation of the home and garden here at Sissinghurst Castle.

‘Passion and Politics: Sissinghurst and Greece’ is sponsored by The Centre for Hellenic Studies at King's College London.

Exact talk timings will be confirmed closer to the event.

Featured talks include:

- ‘Venizelos & Sissinghurst’ by Koraes Professor Gonda Van Steen

- ‘George Seferis & his English Friends’ by Emeritus Koraes Professor Sir Roderick Beaton

- ‘A Political Humbug: the Delian Altars at Sissinghurst’ by National Trust Curator Dr Jerzy Kierkuc-Bielinksi

Your ticket also gives you entry to the world-famous garden here at Sissinghurst from 4pm once the event finishes. Car parking charges still apply to non-National Trust members.

If you arrive *before* the event and want to explore the garden, you will need to pay for entry at Visitor Reception.
