Water vole habitat survey online training with Citizen Zoo
Join the North Devon National Trust and Citizen Zoo on this free online event to learn about the planned Water Vole release and how you can get involved.
Working with DG consultancy and North Devon National Landscape, we are looking to release water voles in the Combesgate catchment later this spring / early summer. And we are looking for volunteers to get involved.
Water voles are the UK’s fastest declining mammal and we have an opportunity to bring them back to North Devon where there are no recent records of them. Join us to learn about how to survey suitable habitat in the area which will enable us to see how to expand the range of our released water voles and allow us to make sure that their habitat is as good as it can be.
On the call we will update you on the project and talk about how you can get involved. Then Elliot Newton from Citizen Zoo will give us training on a simple way to survey potential sites.
