Creative Writing Workshop: Writing Your Family Story

Whether you’re looking to preserve your heritage or find your voice in the natural world, these intimate, expert-led workshops offer the perfect sanctuary for your writing to flourish.
Class 1: Writing Your Family Story (or your own!): with novelist and memoirist Emily Winslow
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Are you writing your family's history, or telling stories from your life? Emily will help you apply the rules of writing engaging fiction to your true stories without compromising facts. She'll help you present the context of time and place vividly and memorably, use connected elements within your story to create flow, and consider varying ways of incorporating primary sources.
Tickets: £75 per person, per class
Capacity: Limited to 10 spaces per session
Age: 18+
A Little Something Extra: Every ticket includes a voucher for a free hot drink to enjoy at our riverside tearoom - perfect for fuelling your creative flow.

Please note:
- Meet inside the Mill at least ten minutes before your class start-time.
- Bring some writing implements and a notepad for the class.
- Classes will be held on the top floor of the Mill, so please come prepared to climb two sets of stairs. (27 stairs in total, with two corners). Chairs and tables will be provided for the classes.
- Adults only, 18+.
