Join the National Trust Senior Gardener for a guided walk through the landscape surrounding Clouds Hill. Along the way, discover a fascinating blend of stories about T. E. Lawrence, the plants and wildlife of the heathland, and the rich history of this unique landscape.

Perfect for children, gardeners, and Lawrence enthusiasts alike, this relaxed walk offers something for everyone.

The walk will last approximately 50 minutes and is timed to finish before a tour of Clouds Hill, allowing entry to the house at 12:00pm. 

The guided walk is free, but normal admission charges to Clouds Hill House apply. National Trust members enter free. If you do not wish to visit Clouds Hill house after you will not be charged, please let our walk lead know when you arrive.

This is a short but fairly steep walk with uneven, root-covered paths, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

Meeting point: by the reception building in the car park.

Please note:

  • Meet at Clouds Hill Reception Area.
    The walk starts from the reception at 11:00. Arrive by 10:45 to ensure you have time to book your place inside Clouds Hill at 12:00.
  • Wear sturdy, non slip, waterproof shoes / boots and weather appropriate clothing. We will climb a steep section up the heath so please be prepared for this near the start. Walking sticks may be useful.
  • There is a steep climb on the walk and it crosses an area which is uneven with raised roots.
    If you visit Clouds Hill House after there is a staircase to climb to access the upper rooms.
  • Children are welcome.
  • The guided walk is free but if you wish to visit Clouds Hill House after the walk normal entry fees apply. National Trust members can enter for free.
