Seaton Delaval Hall and Old Hartley: Delaval Discoveries Wider Estate Walks
Join us for our regular wider estate walks to discover more about the Delavals and their local interests. Take in delightful views across the landscape and find out more about the area's history.
This walk explores life in the Dene approximately 150 years ago as well as exploring the wildlife who live there and the work today of community groups to encourage nature.
You’ll walk up the railway bridge abutments and discover what happened to the old line, see evidence of the old First World War army camp including the water tower, latrine block and lookout. Enjoy the lighthouse views and island history before heading back towards Seaton Sluice harbour and back up to hall.
This circular walk is approximately 8 km (5 miles) and lasts approximately three hours, including time for regular stopping. Admission to property not included.
