Family photography workshops - Summer of Play in Comer Woods
Get ready to see the outdoors in a whole new way!
Hosted by Piece of String Media, this fun, hands-on digital photography session is designed especially for families with children aged 7–11.
Explore nature through the lens as you learn the basics of digital photography, from composition and framing to creative techniques that bring your images to life. It’s the perfect mix of fresh air, creativity, and digital skills.
After the workshops images will be selected to feature in a temporary photography exhibition in Comer Woods.
- All equipment provided (you’ll be using iPads)
- No experience needed, just curiosity and imagination
- Sessions are relaxed, friendly, and family-focused.
Please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes before the session time.

- Please meet at Heath Barn in Comer Woods.
- This is an outdoor event, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
- Level access. Inclusive event. Please see website for more detailed information.
- Suitable for children aged 7-11.
- Sessions are limited to a maximum of 5 families to keep the environment calm and supportive.
- Photography:
We may take occasional photographs during sessions for documentation or promotional use, although this is not a core part of the workshop.
If you or your child should not be included in photographs, please let us know in advance or on arrival and we will ensure this is respected. - Please do not attend if you or anyone in your household or close contacts is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or feeling unwell. As we work with individuals at higher risk, we appreciate your support in helping keep the space safe. We may also wear masks when working in close proximity where appropriate.
- £6 Tickets are for one family (max. 2 children) come along together and create something amazing.
