Join this free guided walk to discover the magical micro world of lichens in Petworth Park.
Discover more about lichens on this free 2 hour guided walk, exploring lichens on the stone work and ancient trees across the Park. Learn how to identify some common lichens from their growth form and their reproductive structures.
The walk is designed for lichen beginners.
Hand lenses will be provided for you to take a closer look at the lichens.

Please note:
- Please meet in the main car park for Petworth House.
- Please wear sturdy footwear and come prepared for the weather with sun cream, sun hat and drinking water.
- This is a two hour walk on uneven terrain across the Park. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
- Children are welcome on the walk but will need a ticket as spaces are limited.
- If you wish to visit Petworth House before the walk, you will need to pay normal admission.
