Sketching in the spaces; A Room to draw
Join in on one of our still-life sketching and drawing sessions this Autumn. For this session, the focus is on the Drawing Room itself, home to the piano, the Antwerp cabinet, Gothic interiors and a selection of other treasures.

As part of the Big Draw Festival 2026, Oxburgh will be opening its collection stores for visitors to sketch with a rolling programme of themed still life scenes created using our historic objects. Book onto the weekly events, offering an after-hours sketching session in the Drawing Room and be inspired to create your own works of art from some of our more unusual and lesser seen collection items.
Basic sketching and drawing resources can be provided, but you can bring your own pencils and resources if desired. Due to the nature of our conservation work in the hall, charcoal, paints, water and other mediums cannot be brought in for these still-life drawing sessions. Food and drink are also not permitted in the Hall.
The sessions are not led by an artist, and are not taught sessions.
