The Big Draw: Architectural Sketch Crawl with Catt Standen
Celebrate The Big Draw with an artist-led sketch crawl, capturing and illustrating some of
Croome’s architectural highlights while developing your observational drawing skills.
The Big Draw Festival is a worldwide celebration of drawing and this year’s theme “Make a Mark’ reflects on the lasting impact of creativity and how drawing builds creative legacies across people, places and generations. Inspired by the festival’s theme, we’re hosting an Architectural Sketch Crawl across Croome.
Many of Croome’s interiors, temples and follies were designed by renowned neo-classical architect Robert Adam, and this event celebrates the enduring impact of his creativity, inviting participants to create their own artistic response to the architecture of Croome.
Led by visual artist Catt Standen, you will spend a day exploring the architectural wonders of Croome, learning essential skills in perspective, creating depth and line work observation. You’ll spend the first part of the session creating a collection of architectural sketches, followed by an opportunity to enhance and develop those drawings with a range of different mediums.
A range of materials will be provided, including and A5 complimentary sketchbook to begin filling on the day. Admission is included with the event ticket.
