Tales by Torchlight: The Adventures of Raegenhere
As darkness falls across the landscape of Sutton Hoo join our Anglo-Saxon storytellers as they share fictionalised tales of The Adventures of Raegenhere, the eldest son and heir of King Raedwald of East Anglia.
Join us for our Tales by Torchlight, when your storytellers will present our fictionalised tales of The Adventures of Raegenhere. Follow his warband of warriors as they travel the breadth of post-Roman Europe in search of battles, glory and riches.
Each tale recounts a particular adventure on their journey, from their Deben Departure to their Arrival in Rome. From Love in Lyon to Comrades in Constantinople. From a Storm at Sea to the Battle on the Bosphorus. Share their fear and wonder in a world far from the land of the South Folk and beyond their wildest imaginings. Walk in their footsteps in the historic setting of Sutton Hoo and let your minds take flight on the wings of our tales.
You will be led by torchlight across the landscape of Sutton Hoo and encounter Anglo-Saxon storytellers along the way waiting to share these stories with you.
There will be two performances each night. The first will be from 6.00pm - 7.30pm and the second will be from 6.45pm - 8.15pm.
Hot and cold drinks and cake are included at the end. Gates open 15 minutes before each performance.
