October Half Term: Bat Walks

Join us in the gardens as we search for our resident bats using special bat detectors.

Learn how to use specialist bat detectors, identify the different species found at Nostell, and uncover their flight paths and feeding habits. This unique guided walk offers the chance to explore the Pleasure Grounds and Menagerie Garden at dusk while learning more about these remarkable nocturnal creatures. While we'll do our best to spot bats during the walk, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Please note:

  • Visitors to meet in the Courtyard.
  • Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear, as paths may be uneven, wet or muddy. Staff will have torches, but feel free to bring your own additional lighting.
  • Blue Badge parking is available near visitor areas, and most paths are suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and pushchairs, although some surfaces and slopes may be uneven. As this is an evening event, lighting levels will be low and visibility may be reduced in some areas.
  • Families are welcome
