Sashiko Embroidery Workshop

Join us for a full day introduction to Sashiko embroidery, and make your very own pin cushion!

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery method, often used to repair, strengthen and decorate fabrics. It involves simple mindful running stitches, which can be built into striking geometric patterns. This is a simple yet versatile technique, useful for mending and prolonging the life of your favourite garments! 

In this full day workshop, you will be guided through the basics of Sashiko embroidery before applying the technique into making a very handy pin cushion. Do not worry if you are new to embroidery, this workshop is open to people of all abilities. 

All materials and equipment will be provided; however, participants are very welcome to bring their own sewing kit if they wish. It is recommended to bring a notebook and pen to take notes. 

There will be an hour-long break for lunch. Tea and coffee are provided. It is recommended to bring your own lunch. Access to the Stables Café on the main Belton Estate site is permitted, however it is a short walk from the venue.
