Autumn Amble Kinder Reservoir from Bowden Bridge
A moderate circular guided walk around Kinder Reservoir starting from Bowden Bridge car park in Hayfield. Suitable for adventurous families!
'Autumnal Amble,' in the shadow of Kinder.
Join us on a circular walk in the shadow of the beautiful Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve. We’ll walk in the footsteps of the Kinder Mass Trespass as we march up to the edge of Kinder Scout before circling Kinder Reservoir and back to Hayfield.
We will encounter the glorious Peak District countryside with autumn tints, Kinder Reservoir and its history and section of the course of the old railway that was used to bring the materials to build the reservoir. If the weather is kind and clear there will be views of Kinder itself and the downfall, but we cannot promise to see any water coming down it.
There may be a few other surprises along the way.
The walk is approximately 5 miles and includes a short section of road, moderate ascent, uneven paths, cobbles some fords and a stream crossing.
Our walk leaders are incredibly knowledgeable, so please ask as many questions about the area as you like! Accompanied children are especially welcome but the walk is not suitable for pushchairs or prams.
