October Half Term Storytelling and Craft: Mami Wata the African Goddess of Water
This Black History Month, join writer and cultural facilitator Dr Michelle Yaa Asantewa for a vibrant storytelling and activity session inspired by the powerful West African water spirit, Mami Wata. For ages 3+
Join a morning of storytelling, crafts, and creative play inspired by Mami Wata, the African goddess of water.
Through storytelling, rhythm, movement, and simple craft, children and families will explore themes of nature, water, culture, and belonging. Volunteers will help you create a colourful Mami Wata greetings card, decorated with mermaids, cowries, and fish, to take home.
This session is part of our October Black History Month programme, including a breakdown of the hit film Sinners and an African drumming session during half term.
Suitable for children aged 3 to 6. Children must be accompanied by one adult. Booking is essential.
