The Dark Forest – Ghost Stories at Diwali : An Evening of Storytelling
Join acclaimed British Punjabi storyteller Peter Chand for a captivating journey through The Dark Forest. Peter will explore themes of light and dark through his scariest stories from South Asia and beyond in the setting of the Great Parlour.
For two special evenings (30 and 31 October), join acclaimed British Punjabi storyteller Peter Chand for a captivating journey through The Dark Forest. Over two nights, Peter will explore themes of light and dark through his scariest stories from South Asia and beyond in the setting of the Great Parlour. This event is suitable for those aged 16 and over and will include jumps and lighting effects.
British Indian storyteller Peter Chand is one of Europe’s most renowned storytellers and is constantly in demand for his tales of life, love, and the supernatural. From a Punjabi background, he regularly visits family in India to collect and translate traditional folktales which he shares with audiences of all ages. He has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the University of Wolverhampton for his Storytelling activities and for championing storytellers from a global majority heritage.
During the interval, join us in the tearoom for chai and vegetarian samosas. Please inform us when booking of any dietary requirements. Please note, food and drinks cannot be consumed in the Manor.
This event is suitable for those aged 16 and over, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who also holds a ticket for this event. Please no stiletto heels or large bags; you may be asked to remove them and put into a locker. An extra layer is recommended on cooler evenings.

- Please park in the main car park, located off the A454 Bridgnorth Road (SAT NAV WV6 8BN), then head up to the Manor.
- Please meet at the front door of the Manor; the doors will open at 6:45pm for a start time of 7:15pm.
- Please no stiletto heels or large bags; you may be asked to remove them and put into a locker. An extra layer is recommended on cooler evenings.
- We have a golf buggy which can drive you to the Manor from the car park and ramp access to the Great Parlour where the event will be performed. Sorry, we cannot accommodate mobility scooters inside. Toilets are located in a separate building across from the Manor.
- 16+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).
- Booking is essential.
- This event will take place inside in the Great Parlour of the Manor.
- Food and drink cannot be taken into/consumed in the Manor. Interval refreshments will be served in the tearoom.
